If A Death Has Occurred
A Celebration of life service for Sidney "Red" Herald, age 76 of Southside, will be Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Craig Tate and Ken Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Rye's Chapel Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
Sidney passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a lifelong farmer and tractor mechanic for Hadley Brothers John Deere and he retired from Standard Gypsum. He enjoyed barbequing, cattle farming, auctions, and coon hunting. He was a father figure to many, and his nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart.
Sidney is preceded in death by his parents James "Jimmie" and Margaret Wall Herald, siblings: Elizabeth Cunningham, Joe Herald, Raymond Herald, Sue Spurlock, and Charlean Herald. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Peggy Rives Herald, daughters Pam and Dana Herald, brothers Edward (Bonnie) Herald and Dean Herald, and sister Eula Mai (J.C.) Kendall.
Pallbearers will be: Tyler Herald, Trey Johnson, Chase Hamilton, Keven Schmidt, Howard Baggett, Peanut Conatser, Marty Herald, and Kinlee Dukes, and honorary pallbearers will be: Canaan Schmidt, Van Wall, and John "Fat Cat" Ellis.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rye's Chapel Cemetery fund at 224 Gray's Chapel Road, Cunningham, TN 37052
