1Sg Roger Brown Jr., Army (Ret)

A Celebration of Life service for 1SG Roger Wayne Brown, Jr, ARMY (Ret), will be Friday, January 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Kentucky Veterans West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Roger passed away on December 3, 2021. He was born on March 18, 1965 in Decatur, IL to Roger Sr. and Jacqueline Brown.

Roger retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service and ended his second career with Montgomery County Sheriff's Department after 14 years. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal along with many meritorious awards. Roger loved his family and his dog, Phoebe. He enjoyed gardening, sitting around a bonfire, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Nancy Poole. Roger is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lori Worth Brown; sons, Roger Brown, III and Alex Brown; brother, Robby Brown; nephews: Nicholas, Austin, and Justin; and great-niece, Maddie.
