Betty Rader

d. December 6, 2007

Betty Jo "Georgie" Rader, 77, passed away at home on August 20, 2011 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.  She went peacefully, painlessly, and with dignity thanks to the dedicated staff of AseraCare Hospice.
Georgie loved life, her family, Scrabble, U.T. football and Peyton Manning.  Following the enexpected death of her husband, CSM Leon M. Rader, she helped her oldest daughter, Debra Rader, raise her grandchildren, David and Daniel.  She was also a devoted grandmother to Caitlin and Conner, twins of her youngest daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Trevor Elliott.  "Grandma Georgie" never forgot a birthday, holiday or special moment in any of their lives.  She doted on her son, Allan Rader, long after he was grown up and out on his own.  She suffered a devasting loss when her daughter, Debbie died from melanoma on Dec. 6, 2007.
The last few months of Georgie's life were spent in the loving care and companionship of her sister, Dorothea "Dot" Roberts and her nephew, Stan.  Her chldren, Susie and Allan, will always be grateful to both of them for the kind and compassionate way they helped Georgie during that difficult time and will never be able to express how truly thankful they are.  They would like to thank her sister, Virginia Gaylon, her brother, Kyle Miller and wife Linda, and her niece, Gina Galyon, for surrounding Georgie with love in her final moments and for the suppoort and prayers of family and friends who couldn't be there.  Finally, the entire famly would like to thank Brother Todd Grey for gently guiding Georgie to her heavenly father.

"May the memory of Georgie's smile, her laughter, and her love carry us through the heartbraking days, months, and years to come"
