James Julian Johnson

A graveside service for James Julian Johnson, age 84, of Clarksville, TN, will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Sykes Funeral Home.

James, affectionately known as Jim or Smooth, was born on April 27, 1941, in Stewart County, TN, to Thomas and Ruth Johnson. He passed away on May 19, 2025. Jim retired as a Lieutenant from the Clarksville Fire Department after 25 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed time spent with family, cooking, camping, and square dancing.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by 10 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Naomi Phillips Johnson; many nieces and nephews including Charles (Betty) Phillips and David (Jane) Johnson; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
