Jimmy Charles Kanagy

November 8, 1968 — October 15, 2023

Jimmy Charles Kanagy, age 54, formerly of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 while in the loving hands of Signature Healthcare of Monteagle, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held in 2024, where he will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery next to his parents.

Jimmy was born November 8, 1968 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Charles Arthur Kanagyand Darlene Jeanette McGranahan. He grew up in Michigan near his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He moved to Clarksville, Tennessee with his parents and brother when he was in his late teens. After Jimmy’s father passed, he was a resident at Holiday Uffelman Estates in Clarksville with his mother and great aunt, Frances Zoeller.

Jimmy is survived by his sister, Linda Kanagy, of Jackson, Michigan, and his brother, Ralph Kanagy, of Clarksville, as well as his aunts – Wanda Bishop, Rita Bunch, Marcia Kipp, and Lori Krull, along with numerous cousins and friends. Jimmy will forever be remembered by his family. He was quick to smile and had a wonderful
sense of humor. He was intelligent, caring, and a Teddy Bear. Jimmy never complained, even though his life was less than perfect.

Jimmy is now in the loving, caring hands of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He is reunited with his parents, as well as his grandparents, Marley and Luella McGranahan, Ralph and Ruby Kanagy, and his aunts Pat Shuey, Michelle McGranahan, Denise McGranahan Edwards, Frances Zoeller, along with his uncles Dan Zoeller and Eddie McGranahan.

Arrangements have been made by Sykes Funeral Home.
