A Celebration of Life for Judy Ann Seipelt Stephan, 83, of Cumberland City, will take place on Friday, May 23 at 12:30 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at KY Veterans Cemetery West. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Judy was the wife of Chief Warrant Officer 4 Robert "Keith" Stephan, who died Jan. 2, 2025.
Born in 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Judy was the daughter of the late Pat and Harold Seipelt.
While the career Judy worked most passionately was that of wife and mother, she was a realtor, contributing writer for the Stewart-Houston County Times and Ft. Campbell Courier, community volunteer and classroom aide before enrolling at Austin Peay State University, earning degrees in 1987, 1989 and 1997. She taught at Richview Middle, Northeast and Moore Elementary Schools and then served with great pride and joy as principal at Tennessee Ridge Elementary School until her retirement.
In retirement, Keith and Judy enjoyed traveling and visiting friends. She celebrated her 70th birthday with her first and only skydiving adventure. She was an avid bridge player and former president of the Clarksville Women's Club.
Judy is survived by her son Jay (Leilani) Ross of Rockvale, Tonya (George) Cunningham of Palmyra, Tifini (Tommy) Bain of Rockvale, Christopher Stephan of Kansas City, and sister-in-law Judy Lynn (John) Waits of Mt. Orab, Ohio; grandchildren Sean, Ashlea, Aubrea, Morgan, Cooper, Caden, Casen, Bella, Brinli; and six great-grandchildren. Her daughter and son-in-law, Tedi Jo and Darryl Threatt, preceded her in death.
Caden Cunningham, Casen Cunningham, Cooper Cunningham, Craig Crockarell, Mikey Pulley and Cain Smith will serve as pallbearers.
