Karin Matthews

A Celebration of Life service for Karin B. Matthews, age 84, of Clarksville, TN, will be Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Karin passed away on January 1, 2023. She was born on August 28,1938 in Berlin, Germany to Walter and Anna Schmietendorf. Karin enjoyed watching her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren play sports. She loved flowers, gardening, and her pets.

In addition to her parents, Karin is preceded in death by her sister, Ursula Metzner and grandson, Jeremy Matthews. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Benjamin "Jerry" Matthews; son, Allan (Darlene) Matthews; granddaughter, Annette (Benjamin) Passe; great-grandchildren:Alayna, Lauryn, Jeremy, Katie, and Benjamin; great-great grandson, Ezra; and many more loving family members and friends.

Pallbearers are Benjamin Passe, Jeremy Elliott, Spencer Passe, Justin Climer, Adam Elliott, and Gavin Bumpus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County.
