Kenneth Wilson Griffy, 78, Woodlawn, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at his home.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Mathena and Reverend Jerry Shelton officiating.
Burial will be in Blooming Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Buddy was born June 8, 1931, in Montgomery County, son of the late Clay and Elizabeth Burney Griffy. He was preceded in death by a brother Clay Griffy Jr.
He retired from Acme Boot Co. and was a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Frances Carol Jones Griffy; son Dean (Sherry) Griffy; daughter Judy Kay (James) Turner, all of Woodlawn; brother Dorris (June) Griffy; sister Jane (J.D.) Burkhart; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
