Lidwina Dameron

Clarksville

Lidwina (Lidia) Dameron, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on 13 September 2026, at the age of 93.

Born in Peissenberg, Germany, in 1933, Lidia married her beloved husband, David Dameron, in 1957. Together, they relocated to the United States, eventually becoming long-time residents of Clarksville, Tennessee, in 1966. Lidia will be remembered for her strength, honesty, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. She was a woman who spoke her mind and was never afraid to give straightforward advice. When she offered guidance, you always knew exactly where she stood—and her words always came from a place of love and genuine concern.

Lidia had a deep love of travel and adventure, a spirit she instilled in her children from a young age. She taught them to be curious about the world, to experience new places, and to embrace the opportunities that life had to offer. As they grew older, she continued to share that spirit of adventure with them.

She shared many wonderful experiences with her daughter, Gloria, who lives in Germany, creating lasting memories together. She also visited Hawaii with her daughter, Sylvia, enjoying the beauty and unique experiences of the islands. During another visit to Hawaii, she explored the area with her son, Clifton, who was stationed there. These journeys were opportunities to spend quality time with her children and create memories that would last a lifetime.

Above all, Lidia loved her grandchildren dearly. Whether they lived close by or far away, each one held a special place in her heart. She cherished the time she spent with them and took great joy in watching them grow. Her love for her grandchildren knew no distance.

Lidia also believed deeply in giving back to her community. For many years, she generously volunteered with the American Red Cross and at the Fort Campbell Military Thrift Store. Her dedication to volunteering continued well into her 80s, when she was honored as Volunteer of the Month numerous times. She gave her time, energy, and kindness freely, and her commitment to helping others made a lasting impression on the people around her.

Lidia found joy in life’s experiences, in helping others, and most of all, in the people she loved. Her honesty, wisdom, generosity, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 27 years, David Dameron.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Sylvia and Gloria (Jim); her son, Clifton; five grandchildren, Jesse (Jennifer), Christopher, Keith, Julia, and Abby; three great-grandchildren, Chandler, Jodi (Quincy), and Cade; her brother, Anton Stieber of Peissenberg, Germany; her late brother-in-law Arthur Dameron’s family, including Sandra, nieces Christine and April, nephew Brian, four great-nieces Emily, Paige, Sophia and Charlotte, and many great-great-nieces and nephews; and her long-time cherished friend, Hedwig Peucker, along with many friends whose lives she touched through her kindness and service.

Though saying goodbye is difficult, her family takes comfort in the many memories she leaves behind—the time she shared with her children, the deep love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the straightforward advice she gave so freely, the adventures she embraced, and the community she served so faithfully.
