Patricia Watkins, age 68, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 in Clarksville, TN with her loving daughter by her side. Born on January 11, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Sarah Floris Watkins and Vincent Brooklyn.
Patricia served in the Army from 1980-1986. She was so incredibly proud of her service. She was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, Germany, and Fort Eustis, VA. One of her favorite sayings, often accompanied by a fist pumping in the air and huge smile on her face, was "I'm American." After moving back to Clarksville to be with her daughter, she was so tickled to be a member of the Women Veterans of America and take part in all the fun activities with her fellow lady veterans.
Patricia (aka Momma) was known for her warmth and compassion. Momma had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cared about, she loved to make others smile and laugh. Her giggles were so contagious, making everyone around her burst into laughter.
Momma loved her books and her favorite book of all was the Bible. She was a beloved member of Champions Christian Community Church. She absolutely adored our Bishop Mabyline Sturdivant and was forever grateful that she lovingly welcomed her and her daughter into the ministry, which led them both to being re-baptized and giving their lives to Christ.
Patricia will be deeply missed by her daughter Kaytreana Shepherd, 7 nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family and friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery West. Pastor Corey Sturdivant will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Champions Christian Community Church building fund at
