A Graveside service for Rachel "Juanita" Dewese, 85, of Southside, TN, will be Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Dr. Danny Dwyer will officiate and her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Sykes Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
Juanita was born in Ninnekah, OK, on July 1, 1937, to Thomas and Della Cofer. She was a proud Army wife to MAJ Charles E. Dewese (Ret) with whom she shared an incredible love with for 58 years before his passing in 2015. Juanita was the epitome of a homemaker and loved being with her family. She also enjoyed reading and traveling.
In addition to her parents and husband, Juanita is preceded in death by her son, Rodney Dewese; sisters, Frances Crow and Clara Hinson; and twin brother, Richard Cofer. She is survived by her children: Charles D. Dewese (Celia), Thomas E. Dewese (Judy), David M. Dewese (Tracy), and Katina Dewese Gibbons (Joel); sister, Joy Heltcel; grandchildren: Clinton Dewese (Katrina), Dawson Dewese, Elijah Gibbons, Dakota Dewese, Charles "Austin" Gibbons (Lexi), Preston Gibbons, Zackary Gibbons, Thomas Dewese, Savana Gibbons, Charles Mancini, Justin Steward, Kayla Dewese, and Andrew Dever; great-grandchildren, Blakely Gibbons and Charles Nolan Dewese; and many more nieces, nephews, and special loved ones.
