Clarksville

Robert W. "Bob" Bracy, 85, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026.

Bob grew up in Paducah, Kentucky, where he played football at Paducah Tilghman High School and maintained lifelong friendships with his classmates.

His career as a Kmart manager took him and his family from Paducah through West Virginia, Virginia, Southern and Northern New Jersey, Georgia, Alabama, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before finally settling in Clarksville, Tennessee. Along the way, Bob made countless friends, many of whom remained close throughout his life. He never met a stranger and had a special gift for making everyone laugh and feel included.

In retirement, Bob enjoyed mowing his grass, caring for the neighborhood dogs, cats, and birds, and traveling whenever the opportunity arose. For Bob, every road led somewhere, and every trip came with a story.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Donna McCann Bracy; his daughter, Kim Bracy Emory (Mark); his son, Michael Bracy; his grandchildren, Lauren Lengel (Philip), Patrick Emory (Jasmine), Hunter Bracy, and Faith Parker; and his great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Emma, Caleb, Nolan, and Noah.

Bob also leaves behind special family members Shawn Amos; Shannon Amos Mortimer and Jeff Mortimer; Rachel Bracy Piech and Greg Piech; Lois Jackson; Linda Utley; and Joel and Sandra Brindley, along with many other cherished relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anita and Clyde Bracy; his stepmother, Garnett Bracy; and his beloved sister, Penny Beth Amos.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Tennessee Quality Care Hospice and its dedicated team for their kindness, compassion, and loving care of Bob and his family.

A graveside service honoring and celebrating Bob’s life will be on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Following the service, everyone is invited to gather at the Bracy home to share memories, enjoy a few laughs, and continue the stories that made Bob who he was.

After all, Bob never told a good story just once.

Please visit Bob's online guestbook at www.sykesfuneralhome.com and share a memory with the family.
