Clarksville TN– SFC Edward J. McCain, ARMY, (Ret), 90, passed away on July 16, 2025. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
Ed was born on November 3, 1934 in Hardin County, TN to the late Bennie and Berttia Lee Sagely McCain of Michie, TN. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished music, cars, motorcycles, dogs, the ocean, and nurturing plants to fruition.
After serving twenty-one years in the US Army, including a tour in Vietnam, Ed retired and later worked at Hawkins-Corlew Chevrolet in Clarksville, earning a second retirement. He was known as a master mechanic, builder, fixer-of-anything, and he grew the best tomatoes in Tennessee. Ed loved to travel and lived life to its fullest.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances McCain; three sisters, Ardene Loving, Hannah Littlejohn, Pattie McGee; and his brother Gene McCain.
He is survived by his children (listed by age): James E. McCain, Ellen (Tony) Garcia, Michelle (Tim) Buhler, John (Anna) Beck, Mark (Anna) Beck, and Kevin (Kristen) Beck; his brother, Ronnie Joe McCain; his niece, Vicki Wilkerson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
