Sgm Jozef Alter Army (Ret)

A Celebration of Life service for SGM Jozef Antoni Alter, ARMY (Ret), age 62, of Oak Grove, KY, will be Friday, November 4, 2022, at 7:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service.

Jozef was born on November 19, 1959, in Poland. He passed away on October 20, 2022. Jozef was a 22-year, retired veteran of the United States Army. He served 3 years as a Ranger and 17 years as a Green Beret. He loved sports and was a huge New York Yankees fan and former, Ranger-now Preds fan. Jozef had a passion for animals and loved sharing his military adventures with anyone that would listen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Abram and Daniela Alter and sister, Eva Kraljev. Jozef is survived by his wife of 6 years, Carrie Alter; children, Jessica Brewer, Phillip Alter and Damian Ashford; and sister, Sonja "Yola" Wyman.
