In Loving Memory of Sheila Holeman Mitchell

Sheila (Holeman) Mitchell age 74, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on November 26, 1950, in Henderson, Kentucky, Sheila was the cherished daughter of Milidine Bolton and Miles Holeman. She grew up with a strong sense of family and faith, values that guided her throughout her life.

Sheila loved to watch Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith, but music is what put the biggest smile on her face, especially Patsy Cline. You would soon realize that it was her beautiful voice, as she sang along, making everyone stop and listen.

Sheila shared 55 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Leonard "Leo" Lourie Mitchell, Jr., building a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised three sons: Leonard Mitchell III, Mickel Mitchell (Donna), and Miles Mitchell (Kristi)—all of Clarksville, TN—who carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength.

Sheila was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Mickela (Kenny), Mason (Ashley), Miles, Max, Martin, and Mazie, and four great-grandchildren: Joel, Briley, Sylas, and Adelyn. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert Lloyd Gray and Bobby Gene Gray, and is survived by her beloved sister, Pat Shaw (Ronnie), along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Sheila will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the quiet strength she carried through life. Her warmth and grace touched everyone who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
