SSG Virgil "Phil" Phillips, ARMY (Ret)

A Celebration of Life service for SSG Virgil "Phil" Isaac Phillips, ARMY (Ret), age 88, of Clarksville, TN, will be Thursday. July 27, 2023 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until the time of service. 

Phil was born on December 24, 1934 in Saginaw, MI, to William and Daisy Phillips. He passed away on July 23, 2023. Phil was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from both the United States Army and The Department of Defense. He loved being with his great-grandchildren, cutting his grass, hunting, fishing, meat-processing, and grilling.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his 10 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bonnie Phillips; children, Pauline (Jim) McElyea and James Phillips; grandchildren: P.J. (Whitney) McElyea, Nick (Jennifer) Phillips, and Jennifer Phillips; and 9 great-grandchildren.
