March 5, 1941 — August 4, 2015
Wanda Faye McGovern, age 74 of Woodlawn, TN passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday August 8, 2015 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 7 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
Wanda was born March 5, 1941 to the late Harvey and Etha Ladd Carpenter. She was a homemaker and a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie McGovern; sister, Sharon Carpenter; brothers, Dillard Carpenter and Howard Carpenter.
She is survived by her children, Bruce (Tammy) McGovern, Jackie (Barb) Travis, Jr., Sylvia (Mark) Dew, Ricky (Gena) McGovern, Donnie (Christi) McGovern; sister Lorrine Kukral; brother, Timothy (Sue) Carpenter; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
