Wanda "Sue" Ellston

A Celebration of Life service for Wanda "Sue" Ellston, age 74, of Clarksville, TN, will be Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pastor Mike Burnett will officiate.

Sue was born on September 15, 1948, in Monroe County, KY, to James and Clara Thompson. She was a teacher for 35 years with the Department of Defense, teaching stateside and overseas. Sue was an avid explorer and traveler, enjoyed reading, playing softball and racquetball, and volunteering at Life Point Church where she was a member.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Ellston and 4 siblings. Sue is survived by her children: Tammie Miller, Tricia Ellston, Dawna Wierzbowski, Elizabeth Ellston, and James Rhodes; siblings: James Thompson, Danny Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Connie Carter, and Mary Monday; grandchildren: Griffin Hardy and Phoenix Hardy.
