Woodrow Sanders

A Celebration of Life service for Woodrow Wilson Sanders, 98, of Clarksville, will be Monday, December 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Jeff Burris will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest alongside his late wife, Martha Sanders. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Woodrow was born on December 2, 1923 in Cheatham County, TN to Thomas and Ethel Nicholson Sanders. He passed away on December 21, 2021. Woodrow was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem and enjoyed fishing. He also was a proud veteran of the United States Army and fought at Iwo Jima during WWII.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his daughter, JoAnna Wooden and son, Jerry Jackson; siblings: Larry Sanders, Jessie Sanders, Dale Sanders, Clayton Sanders, and Helen Douglas. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila (Tony) Gunn; grandchildren, Lyle (Jessica) Gunn and Anna Gunn; siblings, Grace Oakley and Billy Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem Building Fund.
