Bernice Schoonover

A Graveside service for Bernice May Schoonover, age 90, of Spring Hill, TN, will be Friday, June 24, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West where she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Herman Schoonover to whom she was married to for 64 years. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bernice was born on February 23, 1932 in Woodlawn, TN to Felix and Maggie Burkhart. She passed away on June 21, 2022.

Bernice was a member of the Church of Christ. She retired as a Registered Nurse and was a natural born caregiver. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bernice enjoyed flower gardening and collecting rocks along with various other antiques and items.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Hart; and siblings: Carl Burkhart, Hugh Burkhart, and Margurite Earhart. Bernice is survived by her children: Ricky (Evelyn) Schoonover, Dennis (Sylvia) Schoonover, and Lisa (Randy) Moyer; siblings, Bea Johnson and Jewel Halliday; grandchildren: Kathryn Hart, Beth (Matt) Ciaramitaro. Sara Schoonover, Everett (Jessica) Stiles, and Jamie (John) Vaughn; and great-grandchildren: Angelina and Mathew Ciaramitaro, and Madyline Vaughn.
