Bettie Baggett

A Celebration of Life service for Bettie Sue Smith Baggett, age 94, of Clarksville, will be held Thursday, January 28. 2021 at 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Graham will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and again on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Bettie passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Clarksville.

Bettie entered into this life on November 2, 1926, in Palmyra to the late Carl and Mina Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed travelling with her husband and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Acie Baggett and daughter Marilyn Sue Baggett Laymon.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Glenn Baggett and wife Geraline Hutton Baggett; son-in-law, David Laymon; grandchildren, Renee Baggett McClendon and husband Jay McClendon, Jennifer Hawkins, Duane Laymon and wife Ashley Hamilton Laymon; great-grandchildren, Jayson McClendon and Maggie McClendon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bettie’s honor to First Baptist Church.
