Cw2 Ronald Jensen, Army (Ret)

June 27, 1956 — February 13, 2021

A Celebration of Life for CW2 Ronald Jensen Army (Ret), 64, will be Friday, March 5, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro William Lyle will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Ron passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was born in Kankakee, IL, on June 27, 1956 to Holger Jensen and the late Joan Jensen.

Ron served 22 years in the Army. While in the military, Ron traveled the world. His service took him to Germany; Egypt; Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield and Desert Storm; Somalia for The United Nations Peacekeeping Mission and several domestic duty stations. The one place that Ron thought he would see but didn’t get the opportunity to was Nebraska! After his 22-year military career, Ron started his second career as a “cable guy.” He worked for Charter Communications from 1995 until his retirement in 2018. He loved being retired, but not one to sit and stagnate, Ron set off on his third career. Mastering golf! He spent as much time as he could swinging at that little white ball. Even acquired a golf cart heater and cover so he could golf in colder weather. His goal was to become a par golfer. Above all else though, he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

Ron is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dawn Jensen and their children, Joseph Maxey, Veronica Jensen, Shonte Cadwallader and Rebecca Jensen. He was “Papa” to his six grandchildren Shaun Kuclo, Briana Jensen, Steven Barnes, Christopher Maxey, Colten Cadwallader and Peyton Maxey all of Clarksville. His father Holger Jensen also of Clarksville and his sisters Cindy (Mike) Guimond of Bradenton, FL, Jan Bullock of Kankakee, IL, sister-in-law Lynn Kirkwood of Bonne Terre, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Ron wore many hats and carried many titles, Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Brother-in-law Uncle, Teacher, Boss, Mentor but the one he was most proud of was, ‘Papa’.

Ron’s favorite charity was “the Ronnie Jensen boat fund.” Since that charity is no longer applicable, in lieu of flowers, please contribute to Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or the charity of your choice.

Please visit Ron's guestbook at www.sykesfuneralhome.com and share a memory with the family.
