Chasity Sumner

January 3, 1976 — February 6, 2020

A Celebration of Life service for Chasity Ann Sumner, age 44 of Clarksville, will be Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home, 424 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Chasity passed away peacefully February 6, 2020, due to a long battle with a childhood birth defect. She was born on January 3, 1976, in Syracuse, NY. She married her longtime high school sweetheart, Troy Allen Sumner, on October 6, 1995, and they have shared a wonderful life of love together for 25 years.

Chasity loved to love on people. She was an inspiration to all and could keep any dull conversation interesting with her zesty gift for gab. Her passion for life and bubbling personality was infectious to all who knew her. Over the years, Chasity worked several jobs as her husband Troy was a soldier in the U.S. Army. She enjoyed working in the dental field and most recently became certified as a bounty hunter. This, of course, made her family chuckle as Chasity barely weighed 90 lbs. soaking wet and is a whopping 4’11”. Nonetheless, she did pursue it and unfortunately, her health declined causing here to become too frail. Chasity always had the drive and desire to be a contributing member of her family. She was kind, compassionate, and always helped others. The level of motherly love and care she gave to her husband and two sons was inspirational. She always put them and their needs ahead of her own.

Her life was a living example for those that knew her. She never said one harsh thing about anyone as she knew forgiveness was far more powerful than holding hate and discontent against others in your heart. Chasity lived this every day! She was very spiritual and even though she experienced numerous major surgeries over her lifetime, she never once blamed God or anyone else for the trials and tribulations she experienced.

She is preceded in death by her nephew, Hunter Starling. Chasity is survived by her Husband, Troy Allen Sumner; Sons, Cody (Chelsea) Sumner and Jacob Sumner; Father, Philip Ritz; Mother, Darlene (Phillip) Lineberger; Sister, Tabatha Starling; Half-brother, Jason (Tammy) Beirman; Mother-in-Law Cynthia L. "Sandy" (Jerry Lee) Whorley; Father-in-Law, Bruce C. (Ruby) Sumner; Brother-in-Law, Jason C. (Shonda) Sumner; and 2 beautiful Nieces, Kaitlyn N. Sumner and Kylie R. Sumner.
