John Alkire, Sr.

April 6, 1946 — January 24, 2022

John Dale Alkire Sr., age 75 of Clarksville, TN, was carried into the presence of his Savior on Jan 24, 2022. John was born in the spring of 1946 in Hollywood, California to his parents Harry and Margie Alkire. He was the second oldest of six children. After graduating from Kent Meridian High School in Kent Washington, he attended New Tribes Bible School where he met his wife, Marian Jean Erikson “Jeanie”. God gifted them 56 years of marriage together along with four children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

John’s happiest years were when he served as a tribal church planter with New Tribes Mission in South America. He loved learning language, culture and teaching people about God’s love for them.
John and Jeanie later served at the New Tribes Training center in Camdenton, Mo. preparing others to do what they had once done, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the most remote areas of the world!

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his eldest son, John Dale Alkire Jr. and  younger sister, Sharon Coleman

Along with his wife, John is survived by his children: Rebecca (Sean) Tigart, Daniel, (Sarah) Alkire, and Andrew (Katrina) Alkire; siblings: Danne Montague King, Nancy Barber, Bruce Alkire, and Rachel Alkire; grandchildren: Tyrel, Trent, Andriana, Shawna, Josiah, Cody, Ryleigh, and Kayela; and great-grandchildren, Elliana and Einsley.
