Naomi Sample

Naomi Mae Clark Sample was called home on August 26, 2019. She was born in the Liberty Community of Woodlawn, TN on January 21, 1925, daughter of W.E. and Virginia Farley Clark. A Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; brothers: Maurice, Raymond, and Edward; her daughters, Sondra Milkie and Glendale Waynick; and granddaughter, Carley Sample. Survivors include her son, Glenn "Ed" Sample (Martha) of Woodlawn; grandsons: Gerald Waynick (Marie) of Indian Mound, William Sample of Knoxville, Chris Parker of Woodlawn, and Morgan Falls of Memphis; granddaughters, Melody Floyd and Shannon Wilkerson, both of Sumter, SC, Heather White of Knoxville, and Ronda Robertson of Woodlawn. She had 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandchild, and a nephew Larry Clark.

She was a granny at Byrns Darden Elementary for over twenty years, loving and teaching children. She spent many years nursing family members with love and devotion. She was active in church and lived a life of faithful service to God and people.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Waynick, Charlie Waynick, Terry Bowers, Don Fike, Robert Lewinsky, and Morgan Falls.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St.Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory.
