Robert Mcevoy

A Memorial Service for Robert McEvoy, age 82 of Clarksville, will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
Robert  passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Tennova Hospital. He was born on Feb 26, 1936 in Islip, NY to James McEvoy and Olga Smith McEvoy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Richard McEvoy.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn McEvoy, children; Lisa (Fredrick) Ann Esther Ferry, Robert (Sherri) Frank McEvoy Jr., and Kelly (Amy) Scott McEvoy, grandchildren; Alivia Garcia, Leighann Ferry, Robert McEvoy III, Conner, Rylie, Annika, Chelsea, Kaley, and Avery McEvoy, and great-grandchildren; Bianca Taira, Jack Ballestero, Emilya and Charlotte Mejia, Nadia, Killian, and Skylynn McEvoy.

Robert is a veteran and served in Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. During his service he received many awards and medals to include; Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Campaign Star, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm (unit), National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Two Oversea Service Bars, and Loop Expert Badge w/1 (pistol and rifle) During his service he was a member of many different units including; 11th Airborne, 34 Infantry, 525th Ordinance Company, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, HHC USATE, 47th Army Postal Unit, HHC Discom, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
