Sfc Kevin Speaks, Army (Ret)

A Celebration of Life service for Kevin Randall Speaks will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. He was born on March 29, 1960 and entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 4, 2021.

After graduating from North Iredell High School in 1978, Kevin joined the United States Army where he served faithfully as a Supply Sergeant for 20 years. One tour of duty took him to Seoul, Korea where he met the love of his life, Haeng Sun. They were married on November 17, 1980. After retiring from the military in 1998, Kevin and Haeng Sun settled in Clarksville, TN. Kevin was employed by Technica for 22 years before his retirement in 2020 and was a member of Faith Outreach Church where he volunteered in the audio-visual department.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Willie Speaks; brother, Stephen Speaks; and brother-in-law, Oh Haeng Gun.

Kevin made an impact that will live on forever in the hearts of the family who remain: His mother, Dorothy Speaks of Winston Salem, NC; his wife, Haeng Sun Speaks and daughter Angela Speaks of the home; son, Kevin Randall, Jr (Randy) of Chesapeake, VA; grandson, Dandre Tonia-Speaks of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Candace Dobson (Stephen) of Winston Salem, NC and Kendra Timberlake (Don) of Stem, NC; four sisters-in law, Oh Yoong Ja (Kim Bok Hyn); Myong Sun King (Ray); Chong Sun Coleman (Edward); and Kim Tae Wook. He is also loved and cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
